Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) in Barrie, Ontario, is seeking a Plastic Surgeon with a strong interest in breast reconstruction to join a well-established, collegial plastic surgery group in a high-volume, community-based regional referral centre.
This opportunity is ideally suited for a fellowship-trained plastic surgeon with interest and/or formal fellowship training in breast reconstruction, including microsurgical breast reconstruction. The successful candidate will join a robust and established breast reconstruction program with a broad referral base, significant surgical volumes, and excellent institutional support.
Practice Highlights
· Join a collaborative group of five plastic surgeons (4.0 FTE)
· Recruitment is for a full-time (1.0 FTE) position; 0.75 FTE may be considered for the right candidate
· Established, high-volume breast reconstruction program with strong regional referrals
· Excellent program support from RVH’s Surgical Program, hospital administration, and senior leadership
· Shared call approximately 1 in 5, home call model
· Strong outpatient clinic infrastructure with excellent support for managing semi-urgent cases
· High volumes of general plastic surgery referrals, with the ability to tailor your practice to individual clinical interests
· Access to modern ORs, advanced technology, and comprehensive perioperative support
· Growing surgical demand in a rapidly expanding regional cancer and surgical program
Qualifications
· Certification in Plastic Surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
· Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
· Fellowship training or demonstrated interest in breast reconstruction, with preference for candidates with microsurgical training
· Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-based approach to care
