The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is seeking permanent and locum team-oriented professional Anesthesiologists and Family Physician Anesthetists to join our dynamic and expanding Department of Anesthesiology in Saskatchewan.
The Department of Anesthesiology has an excellent complement of specialist Anesthesiologists and Family Physician – Anesthetists with diverse interests. Successful candidates will join our team to provide comprehensive anesthesiology service to the patients of Saskatchewan.
Elective OR runs from 07:45 to 16:00hrs. Capacity is managed to allow for reduced theatres during holiday periods, allowing physicians and staff greater vacation opportunities. Call is depending on location and holiday requests.
The University of Saskatchewan is a research-intensive institution with 22,000 students and 7,000 faculty and staff, and a strong reputation for innovation and excellence. The College of Medicine has an intake of 100 students per year with a commensurate number of positions for residency training. The Department of Anesthesiology is a distributed training site for the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine with education of medical students, residents and other learners an expectation. Successful candidate will be a Fellow (or be eligible for Fellowship) with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Anesthesiology or be eligible/certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada in Anesthesia. Candidate should be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan .
Candidate should be team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high-volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA. Anesthesiologists will be appointed as Assistant Professors in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Saskatchewan.
